Description:
This virtual interactive ethics session will consider a series of ethical issues that arise when providing services to children and adolescents when parental demands seem to conflict with provider recommendations.  We will consider issues of risk and safety, confidentiality, and control. This topic will cover an array of services from early intervention through the provision of BH services to adolescents, and all areas of agency activity will be considered.

1) To review relevant information regarding the ability of minors to access services without parental notification or consent
2) To identify ethical challenges involved in resolving conflicts between minors who access services and their parents or guardians
3) To demonstrate the processes that can be used to resolve the relevant ethical issues concerning autonomy, control, and confidentiality
